Deb Austin and I (Johanna Neuteboom of BARNBOOTS) are planning to coordinate semi-regular "play dates" for local horse people interested in getting together to share knowledge and resources and generally play with our horses in a supportive and fun training environment. We're thinking a "4-H for adults" of sorts… informal info-sessions and quality time with like minded people, designed to encourage networking, social interaction and to just have fun with our horses.

For those of you who may not know Deb, she is an experienced horsewoman, a passionate teacher and best of all... is planning to go through the Parelli Professional program! So... she is great resource, extremely generous and eager to share her skills and knowledge. As for me, many of you know me as a hoof care professional and natural horse care advocate - and as such, we'll also probably discuss lots of "natural" ways to keep our domesticated horses healthy and happy, and offer some alternative approaches to many of the traditional ways of horse-keeping and handling.

So, if you're interested in learning more about Parelli and natural horsemanship in general, we hope you'll come out and see what a small (and simple!) shift in the relationship with your horse can offer. For those of you already involved (because I know several of you already have your Level 2, 3 and beyond) and feel like sharing your knowledge, we'd certainly love for you to join us. And for those of you not certain that Parelli is for you, we encourage you to come out anyway! As a diverse group, we'll certainly have a lot more to share and learn.

Our first get-together will be at Deb's house in Huntsville, on Sunday February 28th at 2pm. No horses this time - it's just a meet & greet to get started and talk about the direction we'd like to go as a group, and possibly set-up subsequent dates. We'll watch a few short videos and critique/discuss/review as we see fit. And of course, probably traipse out to Deb's barn to meet her herd... We hope you'll make it out.
